The best memories are made when people gather around the table.
For us, that table is set in Maremma — Tuscany’s hidden gem, where rolling vineyards meet the Tyrrenian sea, and traditions are found in every glass of wine and every drop of olive oil.
As a local chef, I’ve spent years exploring these hills, kitchens, and markets. I know the winemakers who still harvest by hand, the olive growers who press oil as their grandparents did, and the recipes that have been passed down through generations. Picnic Table Italy is my way of sharing these treasures with the world.

Join Chef Dani on this private food, wine and wildlife tour to South Africa. We'll explore beautiful Cape Town and experience its impressive culinary scene, taste our way through the Swartland and Franschhoek wine regions meeting local winemakers along the way, and search for lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes and more on safari at Motswari Camp in the private Timbavati Game Reserve.

Grape Harvest Tours
Join winemakers Carla Benini and Edoardo Ventimiglia at Sassotondo during harvest season in Maremma. Take part in hands-on winemaking activities, from vineyard to cellar, and discover the art of organic farming and rare local grape varietals. Between harvest days, enjoy cooking classes with Chef Dani, where you’ll prepare regional dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients, and sit down together to savor your creations. Explore the surrounding countryside, visit local villages, and experience the traditions that make Maremma one of Tuscany’s best-kept secrets.

Olive Harvest Tours
Come experience Tuscany with Chef Dani on the second season of our signature Olive Harvest Tour. Witness the Villa Belpasso olive harvest first-hand and participate in the field to bottle process of this small-scale organic olive oil production. In addition to the harvest, you'll learn about and explore the ruins of the ancient Etruscan civilization, visit the best local wineries with special access available to The Picnic Table Italy guests and get your hands dirty cooking Maremma specialties with Chef Dani in his farmhouse kitchen. For 2026, we have two date options in October both itineraries are the same.
